Charlotte Ann Pittman age 45, of 5690 Old Hwy 20, Leighton has been charged with Assault 2nd degree.  Bond set at $25,000.  Currently in Lauderdale County Jail on drug charges.

 

On 3-6-14 Leighton police and Colbert County deputies responded to 5690 Old Hwy 20, Leighton to a reported stabbing.  When officers arrived they found Robert Daniel Hand sitting on the front porch bleeding from his neck.  Hand stated that his girlfriend, Charlotte Pittman was inside the house and that she had stabbed him.  Officers located Pittman in the bathroom of the house.  Pittman was detained and Hand was flown to Huntsville hospital for treatment.  The Invs were sent to the scene.  Pittman was taken to the CCSO and held.  The Invs’ in examining the scene found an 8” knife with blood on the blade.  Next to the knife was a 9mm semi-auto pistol.  All items were collected.  Pittman requested an attorney, she was held on a arrest warrant from Lauderdale county.  On 3-12-14 Hand talked with the Invs’.  He stated that Pittman got mad at him for not taking care of her dog.  During the argument she pushed him down on the bed then stabbed him twice in the neck.Hand said it all happened so fast that he did realize he was hurt until he walked outside and saw the police.
